Bila Harga Naik...

Tahun 2014 yang begitu mencabar dan penuh rintihan. Semua harga naik. Lepas satu... satu naik. Sampai terasa apa lagi yang naik. Kalau difikirkan turun, entah bilalah akan turun. Memang mustahil.

A Kingdom of Isolation, He's D King

Bolehkah anda bayangkan...

US manufacturing growth slowed in December

US manufacturing sector growth slowed slightly in December after six straight monthly gains, the Institute for Supply Management said on Thursday.

The ISM purchasing managers index for December fell to 57.0 from 57.3 the previous month.

It was still the second highest reading of the year; in January 2013 the index stood at 53.1. A reading above 50 represents expansion.

Among components of the index, new orders and hiring picked up pace and prices rose more quickly, while production was slower. Producer and customer inventories contracted.

Comments from those surveyed "generally reflect a solid final month of the year, capping off the second half of 2013, which was characterized by continuous growth and momentum in manufacturing," the ISM said.

A respondent from the computer and electronics sector cited "Good overall business conditions nationally and internationally."

America's first marijuana stores open in Colorado

Marijuana users celebrated as Colorado became the first US state to allow retail cannabis sales, putting it in the vanguard of efforts across the country to legalize the drug.
The western state famous for its ski resorts and breathtaking mountain vistas has issued 348 retail licenses -- including for small pot shops -- that can sell up to 28 grams of pot to people aged 21 or older, starting Wednesday.
Washington state on the Pacific Coast will follow Colorado several months from now, when it also allows stores to begin selling cannabis.
Iraq war veteran Sean Azzariti was the first person to legally purchase cannabis for recreational use in the United States.
"It's an absolute honor, I couldn't be happier. It's a huge stepping stone for other states as well, so it's a huge honor, to say the least," Azzariti told reporters.
Azzariti, who has campaigned to legalize weed, said marijuana helps alleviate his post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms.
As America's attitudes on marijuana use evolve, Colorado and Washington legalized recreational consumption of the drug in November 2012 referendums, but the new rules coming into force allow cannabis shops.
"It just makes it an item of commerce, like going into a liquor store," a gray-haired Charles Pierce, 61, told AFP at the Denver Kush Club, where pot fans lined up in the wind and sleet for the 8:00 am (1500 GMT) opening.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said he was proud of the city.
"I want to thank the businesses and consumers alike for acting responsibly and with great accountability today," he said in a statement.
"Denver is a progressive city, a vibrant city, and it’s incumbent on all of us to continue getting this right," Hancock added.
State officials here anticipate that marijuana sales will generate some $67 million in annual tax revenue.
Opponents of legalized cannabis warn that it can lead to higher rates of marijuana use and addiction, even among young people who technically are not sanctioned to use the drug.
They also say that marijuana users face a raft of health and psychiatric problems, noting that pot is often a gateway drug that can lead to abuse of more serious substances.
Supporters hailed its legalization -- and legal sale -- in Colorado as historic, and a possible sign of things to come elsewhere.
"The state is demonstrating to the rest of the nation and the entire world that regulating marijuana works," said Rob Kampia, executive director of the Marijuana Policy Project, one of the leading backers of the ballot initiative to legalize marijuana.
"It's only a matter of time before lawmakers and voters in more states adopt similar laws regulating marijuana like alcohol."
Colorado's branch of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws told AFP that everyone will benefit.
"It will mean jobs, tax revenue for the state and local jurisdictions, increased tourism and a developing progressive new industry in Colorado," NORML attorney Rachel Gillette said.
Michael Elliott, head of the Medical Marijuana Industry Group, noted that Colorado has licensed medical marijuana businesses since 2010, but said the influx of tourists for recreational use of pot could lead to shortages.
"It's tough to know whether supply will meet demand, mainly because it's tough to know the impact of tourism on this new market," he said.
Tax collectors are eyeing the revenue the newly legalized trade will generate, while cannabis growers and others are also rubbing their hands in anticipation.
Enterprising companies are even offering marijuana tours to cash in on tourists expected to be attracted to a Netherlands-style pot culture -- including in Colorado's famous ski resorts.
"Just the novelty alone is bringing people from everywhere," said Adam Raleigh of cannabis supplier Telluride Bud Co.
Medical marijuana is already legal and regulated in 19 US states, and has been allowed in some cases for the past 20 years. And in most of them, private consumption of cannabis is not classified as a crime.
Colorado and Washington are creating a recreational market in which local authorities will oversee growing, distribution and marketing -- all of it legal -- for people to get high just for the fun of it.
The market is huge: from $1.4 billion in medical marijuana in 2013, it will grow by 64 percent to $2.34 billion in 2014 with recreational pot added in Colorado and Washington, according to ArcView Market Research, which tracks and publishes data on the cannabis industry.
Washington state is expected to open more than 300 pot shops in June.

YangBaoBei

Nuffnang Featured Blogger for the month of January 2014

Hello Everyone!! Nice to meet you all!!!! Before I start to introduce myself, I would like to thank Nuffnang for featuring me on January! IT’S SUCH AN AWESOME NEW YEAR PRESENT FOR ME! To be frank, I’m not really good in English, so most of the time I’ll just blog in Chinese. SO I WAS KIND OF SURPRISED THAT MY CHINESE BLOG COULD BE FEATURED ON NUFFNANG WEBSITE TOO!
1 My readers usually call me YangBaoBei (杨宝贝) because my surname is Yong and baobei means baby! Hmmm I’m petite but own a chubby face, people always say I look younger and smaller in real person. Born in 7 February 1994(omg can’t believe that I’m turning 20 this year), Aquarius (imaginative girl). I started blogging at http://www.yangbaobei1314.blogspot.com since 14 years old (when I was so naïve and young). I named my blog the “heart of yangbaobei”, which indicates that it’s a platform/diary for me to express and share my feelings and thoughts in life. 2 I consider myself as a lifestyle blogger and most of the time I enjoy blogging about my personal stuff such as my college life, memories, dreams, my loves and the awkward moments in life…However I also occasionally blog about the events that I attended, makeup tips, food, product review and MOVIE REVIEW (I’m a huge MOVIE KAKI)! 3 I love blogging simply because it helps me to release stress and because of blogging I got to know a lot of true friends. Whenever I face some problems or obstacles in life, I will just share it on blog, and the best part is my readers would always be there to read me, feel me, and give me suggestions. Sometimes, I will read back my old blog posts to motivate myself to work hard for better achievement in future. 4 One of my biggest achievement in life is I got to publish my own novels! In my earlier student years, I was really into writing stories and been sending the drafts to many publishers. One of the publishers was attracted by my story but they have no confidence for throwing a huge amount of cost to publish a book for a not so well-known teenage girl like me. HOWEVER, they told me, “If you are able to persuade 100 blog readers to buy your book (pre-order), we will help you to publish the book.” Million thanks to my blog readers who been supporting me for years… They were willing to trust me and made online payment to me… Few days later, I’ve hit the target and the publishers promised to publish the book.  Now, I’ve already published 3 books (my third novel even got into top selling chart no.2), which can be found at Popular/ MPH bookstore. My bf is helping me to manage my own online bookstore too! I’ll never give up on chasing after my dreams and my blog readers are my inspirations. My dreams will never come true if my blog doesn’t exist. 5 After few years of sharing my thoughts on blog, I started to gain readers and it leads me to a better life. I wasn’t born in a rich family but now I’m able to fund all my college fees and entertainment fees all by myself.  All thanks to Nuffnang! Nuffnang has been providing me a lot of opportunity to further my blogging career.
